I grew up in two worlds. One a dream world, built from The Jetsons and Inspector Gadget, The Phantom Tollbooth and The Twenty-One Balloons; a world that opened my appetite to imagination, technology, different cultures, problem-solving, learning and exploration. The other world, Judaism, built from tradition, stories, the written word, community, and responsibility. Combined, these two worlds have shaped the principles that guide my design work.
My guiding light is the users, I use empathy and research to understand what helps users and makes them happy. I'm good at what I do, I work hard & am continuously learning. I do my best work when I am involved throughout the entire product lifecycle. I dive deep and truly own the outcome of projects, working together with product and engineering teams until the product has shipped and beyond.
I live in Seattle, but the cultural diversity, history, and bustle of NYC and Jerusalem will always have a warm place in my heart. When I'm not working, you can usually find me reading, baking something sweet, or traveling (next up is Amsterdam, let me know if you have any recommendations).
I’d love to hear from you; whether you have questions, want to meet up for coffee & chat design or simply want to say hello. Email me at g_lurya@outlook.com
